Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well! My young nephews love Halloween and all that it entails and so, having written this scary little rhyme for them, and since it’s not too far off, I decided I’d share it here with you.
The Witches of the Woods
There are witches who live out in the woods
And on Halloween night they ascend
They head skyward on their broomsticks
Causing mischief without end
They come out hunting for their food source
A sweet and tasty treat
For them, there’s just a single taste
All others can not beat
It’s children witches hunt for
But only on this night
They capture those who’re out too late
And they revel in causing fright
The wisest children aren’t out too late
They’re home, tucked up for the night
So that when the witches pass their house
They’ll already be sleeping tight
Then in the morning, they sigh relieved
The coast is finally clear
But they know the witches will return
To stock their larders up next year
As always, thank you so much for reading my words, it really means a lot!
Until next time
George
