Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well! I’ve been a busy bee lately, which is nice. I always think it’s better to have lots to do rather than nothing. I’m sharing a poem with you today – another one inspired by a particularly intense episode of sleep paralysis. I hope you enjoy it.
Footsteps on the Stairs
Sometimes when it’s late at night
When you’re all tucked up in bed
When the house is filled with darkness
And sleepy thoughts fill your head
In the moment just before sleep takes hold
In the twilight of conscious thought
You may experience a sensation
Of a strange and eerie sort
The air may still around you
As breath catches in your chest
Your eyes may startle open
As from you drowsiness is wrest
An icy chill may shudder your spine
As you feel that someone’s there
You know you should be all alone
But there are footsteps on the stairs
As always, thank you so much for reading. I don’t know what I’d do if I couldn’t write and it means a lot to know that people are reading my work!
Until next time,
George
