Just a Minute

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well and having an extremely productive day!

I’ve been busy lately, feverishly writing away -which is a very good thing- but sometimes I forget that I need to step back, take a breath and relax a bit. Well, that’s the inspiration behind this poem I’m sharing with you today. I hope you enjoy it!

Just a Minute

Just give me a minute
To settle down my mind
To let me take a breath
To relax and to unwind

I only need a moment
A single flashing blink
To halt my racing thoughts
Long enough to let me think

I just need a quick second
Or maybe even two
To step out of this speeding world
And just take in the view

Just give me a minute
To sit and be alone
To remember I’m only human
Made of simple flesh and bone

As always, thank you so much for spending your valuable time with my words, it means a lot!

Until next time,

George

  1. Good poem. I love the theme and variations on the first lines.
