Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well! I’m sharing another poem today. I hope you enjoy it!
Of Shadow and Moonlight
Wandering, as I’m apt to do
Around the house all through the night
I’m often rapt by the formless shapes
Born of shadow and moonlight
Such strange bedfellows they make, but still
I’m enthralled by such a communion
Intrigued by such resulting forms
Created upon their union
When light and darkness mingle so
There befalls a cooling calm
The formless shapes cast here and there
Give off a certain soothing charm
I’m warmed up by the company
Of these nightly chaperones
Who help to temper the eeriness
Of the building’s creaks and groans
And then at dawn, they all depart
Farewells given one by one
As each formless mass is given shape
When kissed by the rising sun
As always, thank you for spending time with me today, it really means a lot!
Until next time,
George
