Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well. I’m sharing another poem with you today. I wrote this one yesterday after feeling inspired by a conversation about my family and my home. I hope you enjoy it!
Home
Home is where my heart is
It’s the safest place I know
It’s my sanctum when I’m troubled
Where I’m lifted when I’m low
Home is where my soul is
Where – over steaming mugs of tea –
My mouth can run unfiltered
And nobody judges me
Home is where my memories are
The good ones and the bad
Where each and every corner
Holds happy times and sad
Home is where my true self lives
And there’s nowhere I’d rather be
It’s where my mind is most at rest
Where I’m able to just be me
Home is where my mind returns
Whenever I’m gone too long
And I think to myself, ‘how lucky am I,
To have somewhere to belong?’
As always, thanks for reading my words – I really do appreciate your time.
Until next time,
George

Thank you! I agree. The world would be a much better place if everyone came from a good place 🙂
