Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well and warm wherever you are in the world. Its icy cold in the north of England as I write, and so I’m wrapped in blankets and guzzling hot coffee to stay warm – but I digress.
Today, I’m sharing a poem with you all. I wrote it a little while ago and came across it this morning whilst wading through my mess of files.
Numb
Sometimes, there’s a numbness
That descends upon my mind
A snuffing out of mental fires
No emotions left to find
It leaves me feeling empty
Not switched on, in a way
And I can stare blankly at the Television
For hours every day
My mood is non-existent
And my tears have all run dry
It can creep up on me suddenly
Without any reason why
But more often is the case
That this numbness finally leaves
And I’m back to normal, daily life
Grateful for my reprieve
As always, thank you for reading my words- it really means a lot and, I appreciate it immensely!
Until next time,
George

I feel like that quite a lot. You put it into words well. 🙂
