A Needful Thing

Hi everyone! How are you all? Today, I am sharing a poem with you. I hope you enjoy it.

I am a needful thing;
A flower in the dark,
Straining to find the sunlight,
Twisting myself in knots.

I am in need of warmth,
A hug, a hand, a smile,
A connection that runs deep;
I’m yearning to belong.

I need to see your face,
Your eyes, your mouth, your hair-
To be within your presence.
I need to feel you near.

I am a needful thing.
I need space, time and air.
I need understanding, too.
I need love. I need you!
