Earth’s Cry

Hi everyone, I’m sharing another poem with you today, I hope you enjoy it!

‘Save me!’ The earth cries daily,
‘Help me to survive,
So that I may do all I can
To help keep you all alive!’

‘Give me!’ Call the people,
They’re always wanting more –
They’ve fished clean all the oceans
And they’ve piled trash along the shore

‘Respect me!’ The earth cries daily,
‘My resources cannot last –
You need to slow it down a bit,
My reserves are draining fast!’

‘Feed me!’ Call the people,
For their hunger knows no bounds –
But they’re always dumping chemicals
That kill crops within the ground!

‘Protect me!’ The earth cries daily,
‘Help me to stay green!
Let us be symbiotic
In keeping the air around us clean!’

‘Help us!’ The people cry daily,
For they’ve left it far too late –
There’s no clean water to fill glasses
And no food to put on plates!

‘I tried!’ The earth calls ruefully,
‘I warned you, everyone,
That if you were not careful,
Everything good here would be gone!’
