Hello everyone, I hope you’re all well! I think we can definitely be certain now that autumn has arrived – if we weren’t certain already! It’s beautiful where I live. The woods are carpeted with leaves of all colours, and the air has that tinge to it that autumn comes with, and I must admit that I find the darker, cooler nights of autumn and winter so much more appealing than the hot and bright days of summer.
Anyway, I’m sharing another autumnal poem with you today and I hope you enjoy it.
Autumn Trees
Summer has bid us all farewell
leaving nothing but a spark
Causing the trees to fall fast asleep
As their leaves fall in the park
Their colours span the rainbow
Their scent is musky-sweet
And they rustle and crunch delightfully
Beneath the people’s feet
Slowly they will disappear
Retaken by the earth
Helping to nourish until the spring
When the trees again give birth
As always, thank you for spending a few moments with me today, I really do appreciate it!
Until next time,
George
