Heavy

Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well. I’m sharing a poem today and I hope you enjoy it!

Heavy

Heavy lies the head that thinks
Laden with ‘what ifs’
Full of plans left unfulfilled
And inconsequential tiffs

And heavy is the heart that loves
Brittle from a life of breaks
Once full and close to bursting
Soon picked clean by those who take

Heavy are the tired eyes
Red from lack of sleep
Dry from shedding salty tears
Enough to fill an ocean deep

Heavy is the tired body
Still striving to do its best
All aching bones and muscles
In need of still and rest

And heavy are the shoulders
That heavy head is pushing down
But despite its weight, it bears a smile
Because its easier to smile than frown

As always, thank you for reading my words, it really does mean a lot!

Until next time,

George
