Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today, I’m sharing another poem. I hope you enjoy it.
Eternity is that Darkened Room
You’ve lost yourself amidst the haze,
In dreary, dark, and rainy days,
Unreachable by sunshine’s rays,
Withdrawn into the gloom.
There’s a maze of shadows built from doubt,
The dark within is bleeding out,
Throat closed up tight, can’t scream or shout,
With despair, you are slowly subsumed.
Stress ramps up, and pressure rises,
And shadows come wearing disguises;
You know this beast—there’re no surprises—
That’s what you think… and then… Boom!
New depths of low break through the cracks,
That you didn’t know you were holding back.
Now the shadows are a darker black,
And you feel you’re in a tomb.
But in this hazy, mazey space,
Where there is no sense of time or place,
Where the ground and ceiling crush your face,
And eternity is that darkened room,
A shard of light, a tiny spark—
Will work its way into the dark,
And guide you through this night so stark,
To where living can resume.
Thank you, as ever, for stopping by to read my words.
Until next time,
George
