Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well! I’m sharing another poem with you today (I know, surprise). I hope you enjoy it
What it is to Grieve
Plunged into inky blankness
And buffeted by the waves
Drawn ever more deeply downwards
As my memory misbehaves
I’m tossed around like seaweed
Awash with icy cold
It rolls over you in stages,
At least, that’s what I’m told
I thrash around the bleakness
With the sensation of being drowned
Trying constantly to swim ashore
Desperate for higher ground
Then once ashore I simply wait
‘Cause, there’ll be but a short reprieve
Before I’ll sink once more into the swells
For, that’s what it is to grieve
As always, thank you for reading my words, and to those of you who’ve sent me kind messages across social media, and on here, I hope you know I really do appreciate it!
Until next time,
George
