Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well! It’s time for post 9 in the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. If you’re interested in participating in the challenge yourself, you can find this year’s list of topics here. If you’d like to read what others have written on today’s topic, you can do so here.
Fictional Things I’m Glad are NOT Real
Oh wow, where do I begin with this one…
Death Rays
Well, this one is a no-brainer. Who wants to be shot by one of these? Death rays are a big “no” for me.
Gilead
Gilead is such a terrible place. The people (especially the women) are controlled and suppressed in a scary way. While it is (currently) a fictional place, certain parts of the world seem bent on making it a reality.
Vampires, Demons and the Forces of Darkness
Being that Vampire Slayers aren’t real (that I know of… although I’m pretty sure), I wouldn’t like to encounter any of these nasties. In a world without Buffy Summers and her friends, I’d have no chance of surviving an attack from such entities, and since I’m a wimp when it comes to blood, I’d make a terrible Vampire.
Dragons
In movies and on TV, even in books and paintings, dragons can look incredibly cute. Born from eggs that look like scaley stones, baby dragons look adorable—but those baby dragons would grow up into adult dragons—and if Game of Thrones is anything to go by, many of us would meet our fates a la flambe. I doubt they’d be vegetarian. Not when they come biologically equipped with the means to cook their own dinner.
The Upside Down
Stranger Things’ grimy orangey-red parallel world would be an awful place to raise your kids. If that place were real, well… let’s just say, it wouldn’t be great.
Well, that’s post nine. I wonder which fictional things all of you are glad aren’t real.
As always, thank you for stopping by and giving this post a read!
Until next time,
George
