Would You Go Skydiving? Why or why not?
Hmm…. Would I throw myself out of a tin can moving at a hundred miles per hour at 14,000 feet and aim myself toward the ground… uh, no thank you!
I know there are people out there who enjoy the adrenaline rush of such thrill-inducing things, but that’s just not me. I like little bursts of adrenaline, like the kind you get from watching a scary movie, but otherwise I’m extremely risk-averse.
I’ve never been one to chase the high of doing something dangerous just to say that I have. But maybe that’s because I live with crippling anxiety and I live in a near-constant state of fight or flight.
I guess I just don’t understand the appeal. There’s taking a risk, and then there’s jumping out of a plane! Living in the world is my Skydiving.
I’m very interested to read some of your answers to this topic!

The most extreme thing I’ve done is swing myself from one arc of an outfacing boulder to another — without a connection in between. I could’ve died but it’s the sort of thing you do when you’re 23 and full of energy and with friends you want to impress! (The boulder juts out from a mountain, and there’s a ledge on the other side that permits great photos…)

Wow, Stephen! We have led very different lives 😂 When I was 23 I was spending my free time in the house reading, or playing The Sims.

Oh, don’t get me wrong…that’s mostly what I’ve done, too. but in my twenties I lost a lot of weight and got really into hiking, biking, power walking, etc. But I was still reading and Simming. Heck, I was simming this morning.
