Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. I’m sharing another poem with you today, and I hope you enjoy it!
Imaginary Friends
I used to be a lonely boy,
Though friends, I had in plenty;
I found them in the books I read—
In a month, I could read twenty!
I’d hide away in pages
Of stories set far away,
Where I could call upon my allies,
and we’d run, explore and play.
But those friends of mine all left me
At the end of every tale.
They’d vanish like the morning mist,
Their voices growing pale
But even now, they’re always there
In corners of my mind—
Their stories shaped my lonely heart,
Their friendship made it kind.
Thank you, as ever, for reading my words!
Until next time,
George
