Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Something I Wish Would Come Back Into Fashion

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today is Wednesday, and it’s time for another post in the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. If you’d like to participate in the challenge, you can find the list of topics for 2024 here. If you’re interested in reading other people’s responses to this week’s topic, you can do so here.

Something I Wish Would Come Back into Fashion

I have often been bewildered by what has come in and out of fashion over the years, and the one thing I’ve noticed above all else is that nothing ever stays out of fashion forever.

I even saw someone with 2000s frosted tips the other day. It wasn’t great.

Way back when I was a kid, I loved all the bright and colourful clothes people were wearing. The 1980s and the 1990s seemed to be an explosion of self-expression — unless you were my dad or grandad, of course, who only wore brown. Or navy. Or grey. But everyone else seemed to be in bright neon colours or colourful pastels. It was great. I wish that would come back into fashion.

Really though, there’s only one thing I’d like to see brought back, and that’s the 3D television. I saved for about two and a half years to afford one, and I loved it. We had a 3D version of our favourite films (Titanic was magnificent), and my nephew loved to watch the 50th-anniversary special of Doctor Who, which they filmed in 3D. But not long after we bought our television, someone decided, in their infinite (lack of) wisdom, that there would be no more manufacturing of 3D TVs. I couldn’t believe it. They were all the rage one minute, and I had assumed they were here to stay, but I blinked, and they were out of fashion again.

All that said, the more people I speak to, the more it appears that I am a minority of one when it comes to loving 3DTV technology. Though, you never know; like I said at the start, nothing is out of fashion forever.

Well, that’s enough from me for today. What would you all wish back?

Thank you, as ever, for stopping by and reading this week’s post. It means a lot.

Until next time,

George

  2. I think I missed that trend, but I haven’t watched TV since college. (I did DVDs, then streaming. I hates commercials.)

  3. Commercials ruin TV for me too, and now they’re starting on Youtube and Rumble.
