Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today is Wednesday, and it’s time for another post in the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. Book/Movie/TV Characters I’d Invite to Dinner

I’d love to invite Ebeneezer Scrooge to dinner.
Scrooge (after his transformation from a miserable miser to a healed man) would be an interesting character to have dinner with. There would certainly be some interesting discussions about what he learnt over the course of that one Christmas Eve.

Bailey, the dog from the book (and film I’ve yet to see) A Dog’s Purpose, would also be a lovely addition to a dinner party, or even to stare at over a bowl of pasta one-on-one.

I’ve spoken about this dog many times before. This book deeply affected me, and I still think about it all the time. If the dog couldn’t speak to me at our dinner, then I’d be happy to merely heap tons of love on him—and if, by whatever magic is granting this dinner event in the first place, I can speak with him, I’d love to chat about his experiences with reincarnation and what he’s learned about his purpose.

The Grinch, after his heart has grown three sizes, would be interesting.
The Grinch is one of my favourite childhood characters, and I still read the book and watch the films every year as part of my Christmas traditions. I’d probably invite a psychologist along as well and hopefully start a discussion about why The Grinch ostracised himself on Mount Crumpet. I’d also want to know if he’s really truly healed or if there is still some trauma and resentment to unpack.

A couple of other interesting guests would be Aunt Jet and Aunt Frances Owens from the book (and film) Practical Magic.

I love the book Practical Magic. It’s one of my favourites, and the Aunts aren’t really featured too heavily (at least in the first book). They bring a ton of atmosphere and quirkiness to the story, and I’d love to sit and chat with them, perhaps over some (non-alcoholic) midnight margaritas (iykyk).
