These Ancestral Streets

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today, I’m sharing another poem with you, and I hope you enjoy it.

These Ancestral Streets

I wander these ancestral streets,
Where so many walked before.
My feet retrace each silent step,
On this memory-cobbled floor.

So many tales are held by time,
Secreted within ancient walls—
Stories of those who came before,
That no one left here can recall.

Shadowed corners fill with voices,
Softly whispering as I pass,
While fleeting faces, lit by light,
Flash across shop window glass.

Though centuries separate us,
Their presence is always near,
And though unknown, we’re all connected,
By timeless threads so sheer.

Thank you, as ever, for reading my words. It really means a lot.

Until next time,

George
