Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. I’m sharing another poem with you today. I hope you like it.
We Crepuscular Animals
We were born to live in twilight,
Between the time of moon and sun,
Where the owls keep watchful sentry
As we dance and skip and run.
As slinky cats meader by,
And as the bats search for their food,
We squeal with rapturous laughter,
As we frolic in the nude.
We are full of fire and frenzy,
As we run wild through darkened streets,
Delighting in the clattering
As we pick out a tasty treat.
Then, as we stop to rest a while,
Beneath a canopy of stars,
We stare in wide-eyed wonderment,
Overwhelmed to know this is ours!
We crepuscular animals
Take ownership of the night,
Thriving within our liberty,
Between the darkness and the light!
Thank you, as ever, for stopping by to read my words. It really means a lot!
Until next time,
George
