Blue Christmas

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today, I’m sharing another poem with you, and this one is dedicated to all of us who are missing people at Christmas this year.

Blue Christmas

Christmas will be different now;
Without you, there’s no shimmer.
The season will be less festive
And the lights will all be dimmer.

Snowflakes won’t be magical,
They will fall like frozen tears.
And the stars won’t sparkle quite the same
As they have in other years.

Carols will become mournful.
Good tidings will all sound stale.
And Santa’s calls of ho ho ho,
Could only sound like a wail.

Without you, there’s no gathering,
The fireplace will stay unlit,
As we all spend Christmas separately,
Drifting slowly, bit by bit.

The season will be different now,
And so empty without you.
And though in time, we’ll all adjust,
Christmas will always be blue.

As ever, thank you for reading my words. It really does mean a lot!

Until next time,

George
