We Need a New Alternative

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Since we’ve just passed International Earth Day (April 22), I’m sharing a rather appropriate poem with you.

Energy is expensive now.
It’s getting way out of control.
We’re burning more and more of it,
Using more gas, and oil and coal.

We’re guzzling gas alarmingly,
But what else can we do
When the cold seeps through the brickwork
Making our fingers numb and blue?

We need a new alternative,
What we have now cannot sustain.
To think we can go on like this
Is more than a little insane!

We’ll have to think outside the box.
Necessity has dictated
That we can’t just keep burning things,
The planet will end up wasted!

Fossil fuels just aren’t good for us,
And they’re running out anyway.
If we all choose to do nothing,
Then with our lives, we’re sure to pay.
