Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well! I’m sharing a poem today and I hope you enjoy it.
Excuse me, but don’t I know you?
Yes, you hiding beneath that smile
Have I not seen you on this road before
Walking this country mile?
Pardon me for pressing
But you’ve a familiar sort of way
In how your shoulders bunch up tightly
And in everything you say
Forgive me for intruding
But I’m sure I know those eyes
That falsely shining sparkle
And the pain that shine belies
I know I’ve seen you somewhere
Just wait, it’ll come, you’ll see…
Oh – I’ve just now realised
That who I’m looking at is me
As always, thank you for spending your time with me today, I really do appreciate it!
Until next time,
George
