Hi everyone, I hope you’re all well. I’ve been playing around with free verse poetry again and this is the nostalgia motivated result of my most recent attempt. I hope you enjoy it.
I am a child of the 80s and 90s
Rubix cubes were popular then
Madonna, Whitney, meatloaf and star trek
They feel like home to me
I am a child of the 80s and 90s
Dance music and shell suits abounded
The Simpsons, Friends and the golden girls
They feel like home to me
I am a child of the 80s and 90s
With junk food and video cassettes
TVs that took up whole sections of rooms
They feel like home to me
I am a child of the 80s and 90s
That’s when I felt most secure
I had the best times of my life in those decades
They feel like home to me
As always, thank you for reading my words. It means a lot!
Until next time,
George
