Words of Friendship will be published on 6th November 2025 by DK Children and is 64 pages long.

The Plot
Words of Friendship is the second in Biggin’s Words of Love picture book series, where readers of the first book, Words of Love, are reintroduced to Sunny, a small yet wise sausage dog with a huge heart who acts as a kind and loving friend, addressing common childhood anxieties and questions about friendship.

Characters
Sunny
Sunny is a sausage dog and a loyal companion who offers non-judgmental support to his human friend Alice. His kind, approachable demeanour makes him an ideal figure for children to relate to, providing reassurance and understanding.

Alice
Alice is a little girl whose fears and anxieties are explored in the story. Through her experiences and relationship with Sunny, readers explore the challenges and value of friendship.

Writing Style
Jake Biggin’s writing in this book is simple yet elegant. The text flows smoothly and lyrically, making it suitable for young readers while resonating with adults, and the language used throughout is rather soothing at points, making this a good book for bedtime.

Illustrations
Along with the lovely text, the book also features delightful illustrations that complement the narrative’s gentle tone; children will be drawn to the sweet scenes in which Sunny is sitting with Alice, particularly if they have animal friends of their own.

The character drawings are simply beautiful, and the colour palette throughout the book evokes feelings of warmth and safety, symbolising some of the stronger components of friendship.

Final Thoughts
Words of Friendship is a heartfelt book that offers valuable lessons on empathy, understanding, and the importance of supportive relationships.

If you’re looking for a book that combines a thought-provoking message, beautiful writing, and enchanting illustrations, Words of Friendship is it. It is simply stunning.

I’m giving Words of Friendship full marks of 10/10.

Thank you, as ever, for stopping by to read my review! It means a lot!

Until next time,
