Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: How I Spend My Weekends

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today is Wednesday, and it’s time for another post in the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. If you’d like to participate in the challenge, you can find the list of topics for 2024 here. If you’re interested in reading other people’s responses to this week’s topic, you can do so here.

How I Spend My Weekends

Unfortunately, I am a little bit of a workaholic, so my weekends invariably look like my weekdays. The thing is, I always end Fridays making sure that I finish everything on my ‘To Do’ list — I hate feeling like I have unfinished tasks, and I like waking up on a Saturday morning with my tasks for the previous week all ticked off. The trouble lies in my inability to simply exist without doing anything; I always find things that need immediate attention, like editing, outlining or note-taking.

I am working on it, though. It would be nice to feel at ease having nothing going on and merely spend Saturdays and Sundays chilling out. Whenever I’ve tried before, though, my procrastinator brain kicks in. Whenever I put work away, it thinks I’m just avoiding a tricky bit of writing or a barnload of research and suggests I clean the kitchen or the bathroom.

One of these days, I’ll be able to sit on the sofa all day and stream Netflix, only moving to get to the bathroom. We all need a dream, I guess.

Anyway, that’s me for now. I wonder what you all do on your weekends.

As always, thank you all for taking the time to read my words. I really do appreciate you all!

Until next time,

George
