Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge: Books About My Favourite Topic

Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. It’s Wednesday, and time for another post in the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. If you’d like to take part in the challenge yourself, you can find this year’s list of weekly topics here, and if you’d like to read what others have written about today’s topic, you can do that here!

Books About My Favourite Topic

My favourite topic to read about lately is writing, and I have so many favourite books about writing that I’d be here for days listing them. That being said, I’ll share a few.

Take Off Your Pants: Outline Your Books For Faster, Better Writing by Libbie Hawker
In this book, Libbie Hawker offers an inviting and refreshing approach that helps to simplify the writing process, with the idea being that you’ll write faster and therefore be more productive. There are some excellent tips in this one. I personally liked Hawker’s “Story Core”, a method of outlining your story in a simple yet effective way.

On Writing by Stephen King
This is an invaluable book for writing tips and insight. It is full of helpful advice, and it also offers a glimpse into King’s life and career.

Get Started in Writing Science Fiction and Fantasy: How to write compelling and imaginative sci-fi and fantasy fiction by Adam Roberts
Here Adam Roberts provides tips and advice for those who enjoy writing science fiction and fantasy. The book assumes you are a complete beginner, and gently guides you through its pages. Roberts offers tips and advice in small, digestible chunks. The book also provides brilliant exercises that actually teach you how to write and actually get you creating stories right away. I can’t recommend this one enough.

So, that’s just a few of my favourite books about writing. I wonder what some of your favourite subjects are.

Anyway, that’s post 10!

As always, thank you for stopping by to read my words. It really does mean the world!

Until next time,

George
