Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today is Wednesday, and it’s time for another post in the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. If you’d like to participate in the challenge, you can find the list of topics for 2025 here. If you’re interested in reading other people’s responses to this week’s topic, you can do so here.
What I Read When I’m Not Feeling Well
Often, when I’m not feeling well, I can’t be bothered to read. Sometimes, depending on what’s happening with my health at a given moment, I might not have the energy. In those instances, I merely lie in a heap on the sofa and stare at the TV.
However, when I do have the energy to read, I reach for anything that offers pure escapism. For me, that usually arrives in the guise of graphic novels and comic books.
Some of my favourite graphic novels are:
Batman: The Killing Joke. This book is a classic. It follows the Dark Knight as he attempts to battle the Joker and save Commissioner Gordon from the brink of madness.
The Beauty Vol. 1 (volume 2 did not impress me). This book follows Vaughn and Foster, two detectives investigating a series of strange deaths related to a supposedly harmless STI known as The Beauty, which makes those infected appear as the most perfect versions of themselves.
Star Trek: TNG: Ghosts— this one follows the crew of the Enterprise as they attempt to bring together two squabbling factions on a planet that has put in for Federation membership. Meanwhile, a survivor, rescued from a marooned ship, says he sees ghosts.
Well, that’s me! This week’s topic is interesting, and I’m looking forward to reading about what you all read when you aren’t feeling well.
Thank you, as ever, for stopping by to read my words. I appreciate it.
Until next time,
George

Man, I hadn’t even *thought* about graphic novels. Hm… There’s a particular run of Blue Beetle I would go back to, plus a few others… I should go check my shelves. Good choices!
