Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. I’m sharing another poem with you today, and I hope you enjoy it.
To Hold the Day
I wandered meekly over yonder way,
Grasping at the melting, red-golden sun,
Trying to hold the embers of the day;
I’ve battles in this war yet to be won!
But it moves quickly westward, sinking fast,
And my hands aren’t quick enough to reach it.
But I chase until it fades at last,
Slowly giving up its glow bit by bit.
I follow, hoping to find where it hides,
As its glow gives way to night’s stark dark black.
I hunt for the day while the moon presides,
Until once more, the sun is at my back.
As always, thank you for stopping by to read my words. It means a lot!
Until next time,
George
