Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today, I’m sharing another poem I was inspired to write the day my Nanna passed away.
The overwhelming weight of sadness
Has pounded me into the ground
And the strength you always gave me
Now is nowhere to be found
There are blades in the air of every breath
There’s a splitting within my heart
‘Cause I wanted you to stay forever
But you need to depart
There is a gut punch with each memory
There’s stinging in both of my eyes
The thought of never hearing your voice
Makes it so hard not to cry
And now I’m unsure of how to be
I’m unsure of what I should do
The overwhelming weight of sadness
Is unbearable without you
As ever, thank you for stopping by and spending some of your time with me today.
Until next time,
George
