Hi everyone! I hope you’re all well. Today is Wednesday, and time for another post in the Wednesday Weekly Blogging Challenge hosted by Long and Short Reviews. The Strangest Dream I’ve Had Recently
Fifteen years ago, my dad passed away. It was kind of sudden, but also not so much. He had been diagnosed with lung cancer in July 2008 and told that they would be able to extend his life with chemo and radiation. However, in October of that year, he passed away.
Now, I have dreamed about both my parents a lot over the years (both of whom are no longer with us) and usually, as with all of my dreams, they’ve been rather dull. I usually dream about boring everyday things like washing dishes or catching a spider and letting it go.
Recently though, I had a very vivid dream about my dad.
In the dream, I was sitting in an armchair at my parents’ house watching TV while my mum and dad sat on the sofa chatting – a typical scene when they were alive.
As I watched TV, my dad called my name and started talking to me, but I couldn’t help but turn my attention back to the screen. He kept trying to get my attention, though when I’d look over, as soon as he’d start speaking, I’d turn my focus back to the tv.
At one point, he got really agitated, yelling at me that he was trying to tell me something important and that I needed to listen and pay attention. Finally, he had my undivided focus. The only problem was, however, that when he spoke, his words were all gibberish.
I looked at him, confused because I wasn’t getting any of what he was saying, and the more I couldn’t understand him, the more he got frustrated, waving his arms about and gesticulating wildly.
I woke up with such a horrible feeling. I felt like I had missed something important. I must say, I don’t believe in the paranormal or ghosts, although I’d like to. But I felt as if my dad was trying to warn me or advise me or something… it was so odd, and whenever I think about it, I still feel uneasy.
Anyway, I’m very intrigued to read about what some of your strangest dreams are. Dreams have always fascinated me, so this week’s posts should be interesting!
As ever, thanks for stopping by to read post number 32!
Until next time,
George

Oh, I’m sorry!
A friend of mine died in a car accident in high school. After his death, I had many dreams about trying to talk to him but not being able to for similar reasons.
Then I finally had a dream where his adult self appeared and we had a nice, long talk. I’ve never dreamed about him since.
I hope you find peace. 💜

There are times when I wish my mother and father were still here so we could talk about things and seek advice.

Me too, Patrick. It sucks sometimes, doesn’t it?

The first time I dreamed about my mother after she died was… Yeah, that was a lot. Not quite as dramatic as yours, it was just profoundly strange to have her back for a little bit. It was one of those Trying To Keep The Family Together In The Airport dreams.

It is jarring, especially in those few moments just after waking up when you’re not sure whether the dream was real or not.
