Depression – In my own Words

Depression is not just feeling sad

Since I haven’t posted anything creative for a little while, I thought that I’d share this poem with you all that I wrote about what my own struggle with depression has been like and I’m sure a lot of you will be able to relate.

Depression – In my own Words

The night is never-ending
Not the slightest sign of sun
Slow and dragging minutes
With not one single ounce of fun

The stars have gone out around me
The clouds are closing in
I can not bear to be outside
And feel restricted in my skin

A blackness grows within me
I see black on the outside too
I’m forever falling downwards
It’s hard to find a clear way through

I long to see the daylight
To push the clouds away
I’m waiting to be rescued
From these never-ending days

As always, thanks for reading, I hope you enjoyed it.

Until next time,

George

  2. That was a somber transparent piece. There’s nothing that thrills me more than an Artist willing to be nakedly vivid. Bravo
